RapidCal

Calendar Style

The Calendar Style pane (new in version 1.0.1) groups all options pertaining to the calendar's appearance. It is divided into 3 subpanes:

Style

  • Default day height: enter in this field the default value for the height of a day cell, in pixels. Average values are in the 60-100 range, however you should set it according to your own calendar, contents and theme. The entire row of the week will grow taller according to whatever is in the tallest cell, but the week, even empty of any event, will never collapse shorter than the default value.
  • Spot color: this color is used to enhance the calendar’s visual compatibility with the theme. It is used as background color for all-day events. See Themes & CSS for more info about the spot color.

Custom CSS

Enter here your custom styles to make sure they always override all other styles from theme, variations and RapidCal. We strongly suggest that you use RapidCal's field instead of the Page Inspector similar field, as RapidCal's appears after and overrides every other definitions.

Calendar background

Use the image field to drag and drop an image from the Finder, from iPhoto, from the iMedia browser. RapidCal only accepts jpg, png or gif files. Make sure the file name is fit for the Internet: no spaces, no accents, no non-Roman characters. You may need to make a copy of the image file and rename the copy appropriately to use it with RapidCal.

IMPORTANT: RapidCal doesn't store the image, it only stores the path to the image. If the image doesn't appear, make sure it is located where indicated in the field above the image.

Use the options to repeat the image and position it. Background color can be used alone, or along with a smaller image which doesn't fill the calendar entirely. Make sure the image resolution is 72 dpi and avoid hogging your calendar with a very large image that would take too long to load. Low-quality images are usually the best choice for this sort of background use.
